Survivors

This painting is made of hearts.
Layer upon layer of them. Some visible. Some hidden beneath the surface. Some cracked open. Some glowing.
Each heart represents a woman who has survived.
Survivors of exploitation and injustice. Survivors of illness. Survivors of abuse. Survivors of betrayal. Survivors of systems that tried to silence them. Survivors who were told they would not make it.
And yet… they rose.
They rose from hospital beds. They rose from courtrooms. They rose from marriages that tried to break them. They rose from diagnoses, from shame, from secrets. They rose from ashes.
This painting honors the women who became the miracle story in their own life.
It honors the women who are still healing quietly. The ones rebuilding financially. The ones rebuilding their bodies. The ones rebuilding their trust. The ones rebuilding their identity.
The hearts are layered because survival is layered.Strength is layered.Healing is layered.
I am a survivor.
And I honor the women around me who carry their stories with dignity, courage, and fire.
This is for you. You are not broken. You are forged.
With love, Carol
